Using The Extension Cord Reel

If you are using a lawn mower, snow blower or any other electric powered device, you need a solution for managing the extension cord. Dealing with the cord may be big pain and can lead to damaging the cord. In best case scenario your mowing or snow removing session will be finished, and you also risk having an electric shock. That is why we suggest to buy the extension cord reel as soon as you buy a new extension cord or electric powered machine.

We have found several tips that make dealing with cords even more easier.

If you wind the cable on the reel end to end, you will also need to unwind it completely before using it. It might be inconvenient if you are going to need only portion of cable. Here is what you can do. put the male and female ends of cord together and fold the cable in the middle. Then using several zip ties zip the middle of the cord to the cord wheel. Now you will roll both ends of the cable at the same time, and you will have only as long cable as you need.

Second option is to drill the hole in the spindle and pass the female end of  the cord thru the hole. Now you should make sure that you have no excessive piece of cord sticking out because then it can do some damage if you wind or unwind the cable quickly.

You should also keep in mind that using rolled cord can be risky in same cases. If you use it near its maximum rating, the cord on the reel can start heating up and get damaged. Always completely unwind the cable if you are going to use highly powerful devices.

Some of the Kindle Ebook readers you may want to get your hands on are the Kindle Keyboard, and the three newly introduced $79 Kindle, Kindle Touch, and the Kindle Fire.

Kindle Keyboard

Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device

Kindle Keyboard

With its name, Kindle Keyboard (previously known as Kindle 3) is the only one among the four which actually has the physical keyboard. The design is primarily the main difference of this model to the other three (which comes in touch screen or 5-way button).

Though heavier compared to the others, Kindle Keyboard appeals to those people who likes writing in their Ebook reader. Having the keyboard, of course, makes writing easier. Despite having a physical keyboard, Kindle Keyboard is still light enough and easy to use.

Kindle Keyboard has a text-to-speech feature that reads content out loud. Text to speech feature is not available in some of newest Kindle Ebook readers. The Kindle Keyboard has 4GB of internal memory, which translates to 3500 books. Its battery life can lasts up to two months.

Kindle Keyboard comes in Wi-Fi only and 3G version.  Kindle Keyboard is retailed at $99 for the Wi-Fi only and $139 for the 3G model, these prices are for the special offers version. If you like the standard version, and willing to shed a bit more money, Wi-Fi only can be purchased at $139 and $189 for the 3G edition.

Stripped off of the physical keyboard (it has a virtual one), you can navigate $79 Kindle using its 5-way controller. This is the lightest Kindle Ebook reader, and the smallest as it literally can fit into your pocket. Despite its small size, $79 Kindle is still very easy to use.

Unlike most of the Kindle Ebook readers, $79 Kindle does not come with a 3G edition, but it comes with built-in Wi-Fi. The internal storage can hold up to 2GB or 1400 books. That’s not bad actually for a basic Ebook reader. Its battery life can stand up to a month.

With its coined name, $79 Kindle is priced at $79 for the special offers version and $109 for the standard version.

You enter an idea, character, place, or even topics, and the “X-ray” feature will let you see all the passages that mentions of the entered idea, character, place, or topic.

Kindle Touch can keep up to 3000 books and its battery life can lasts up to two months. This model also comes in 3G edition.

Kindle Common Features

Though different from each other, Amazon has kept all the necessary features for an Ebook reader on all these models. All versions have built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, search feature, built-in dictionary, and cloud storage for additional space if internal memory is not sufficient. All models also have e-ink screen that does not glare on any bright light, making them still perfectly readable. Also, each model has Whispersync technology that lets you pick up where you last left off, even from another device, as long as it is sync with your Kindle Ebook reader.

Kindle Keyboard is still available in stores. $79 Kindle, Kindle Touch, and Kindle Fire are available for shipping in November.
