Important note – before ordering an extension cord always check if its rating matches the power rating of your electric powered device you are going to use this cord with. The rating of cable should match or exceed rating of your device.
For example if you have 13 amp snow blower, you should chose 13 amp or 15 amp rated extension cord. If you will chose the wrong cord, you risk melting your cord or even burning your snow blower or lawn mower.
Check the ratings even if Amazon.com or any other retailer suggests any particular cable for your equipment. In some cases retailers can mistakenly suggest the wrong type of cord, and equipment can be damaged. Warranty does not cover this type of damage.
Also keep in mind that cables of different length can have different ratings. E.g. Coleman Cables 14/3 50 feet extension cord is rated 15 Amp, but the same 100 feet of the same model is rated only 13 amp.
Coleman Cable 02469 14/3 SJTW Low-Temp Outdoor Extension Cord with Lighted End, 100-Foot
This 14 gauge extension cord is built for using outdoors in temperatures down to -45 degrees Fahrenheit. Thanks to its fluorescent blue color it is visible in low light situation which is important if you use it for powering a snow blower which is often used early in the morning or later in the evening. For the same reason the female end of the cord is lighted.
IMPORTANT! 100 feet model of this cable is rated 13 amp, so it should not be used with 13.5 amp and more powerful machines. Chose 50 feet model of this cable or other 15 amp rated cable for these machines.
